BUSIAN QING STORY

 - *A Life of Hustle, Faith, and Resilience*

My name is *Owino Tonyblaire Odhiambo* , but I go by the name *Busian Qing* on social media. *Born on May 27th, 2003, I’* ve lived a life full of ups and downs, challenges and growth. The journey I’ve been on has shaped me into who I am today: someone who’s resilient, determined, and deeply motivated by both personal ambition and faith.

I was born to *Vincent Owino Oduor* and *Brigit Achieng Otieno* , and my roots are anchored in the wisdom and values of my grandparents, *Thomas Wameyo Oduor* and *Florence Akinyi Okello* . My family has been a source of strength throughout my life, and it’s with them that I’ve learned the true meaning of perseverance.

Growing up as the third-born of eight siblings, I learned quickly that life was not going to be easy. My brothers and sisters— *Jane Adhiambo Owino* , *Harns Otieno Owino* , *Franc Wameyo Owino* , *Paul Ochieng Owino* , *Deizinavel Akinyi* *Owino* , and the late *Henry Odhiambo Owino* , who was *born in 2010 and tragically passed away in 2017* while I was in Class 7—were my constant companions through the challenges and joys of life. Losing Henry was one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life. His death still breaks my heart, and it’s a pain that lingers to this day.

While my family’s love and support have always been my rock, I’ve also found solace and direction in my faith. I was baptized at one of *Prophet Owuor’s churches* in Bumala, where I began my spiritual journey. Later, I joined *Joe Ministry Bumala* , a church that taught me the importance of discipline and living a life aligned with God’s teachings. It was here that I developed a sense of purpose and the strength to keep pushing through life’s toughest moments.

My education has been a long, winding road. I started at *Busire Primary School* , but after some challenges, I dropped out in Class 6. However, I didn’t give up. I returned to *St. John Ogongo Primary School* in Class 5, determined to finish my studies. In 2018, I sat for my KCPE exams at *Mercy Education Center* . That year, my grandfather *Thomas Wameyo Oduor* passed away on December 23rd, leaving a hole in my heart. Despite the grief, I pressed on and transitioned to *St. Kizito Murende Secondary School* , where I completed my KCSE exams in December 2022. The COVID-19 pandemic had delayed my studies, but I remained focused on my goals.

After high school, life became even more challenging. I had to work in mjengo (construction), struggling to make ends meet. However, my uncle Josephat Wameyo Bahati recognized my potential and encouraged me to pursue further studies. He recommended IESR School, which was sponsored by Kenya Power, but my low high school grades prevented me from joining. Instead, I enrolled at *Butula Technical and Vocational College* , where I am currently pursuing a *Certificate in Electrical Operator* Level 5. I’m set to begin my second year in May 2025, and I’m determined to complete my studies and build a career in this field.

Throughout this journey, I’ve learned the value of hard work and perseverance. I’ve always been passionate about marketing, and I now work as a social media marketer, helping brands engage with their audience. I also enjoy watching series and playing handball, which allows me to relax and recharge.

Reflecting on my life, it has been a story of hustle, discipline, and faith. From my early struggles in school to the pain of losing my brother, from the tough times working in construction to finding my calling in electrical operations, every step has been part of the journey that has shaped me into who I am today.

As I look to the future, I know there’s more ahead. I’m determined to achieve my dreams, not only for myself but also to honor the memory of those who have shaped my life, especially my late brother Henry. Through it all, I remain committed to my faith, my family, and my goals, knowing that hard work, faith, and resilience will lead me to the success I seek.
